Development
I’ve been building and managing client websites since 2009 and have made multiple contributions to Open Source projects like WordPress. I’m proficient in HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, and WordPress; a competent user of Python, R, React, React Native, Node.JS, and various other JavaScript and CSS libraries and frameworks; and have taught website design and development as part of the core technology curriculum in GPA International High School from 2013-2019. Since then, I’ve made some online coding courses, and had various special lectures on coding languages in other schools.
My current coding interests (2021) are: React, Gatsby, Node.JS, Python, R, and React Native. I hope to learn Kotlin soon as well and get deeper into app development.
KNC 2019 is a React Native mobile app built in Expo which utilizes Redux to manage application state.
This app was designed with 2 primary goals in mind:
1) To provide conference attendees instant access to the schedule, talks, speakers, networking, and venue information in a mobile app that is downloadable from both the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
2) To allow Users to store personalized data such as their “favorite” talks, speakers, and connect with other attendees virtually.
The primary purpose of this app is to provide a well-designed, comprehensive dictionary / flashcard app for learners of Korean. (i.e. I built it for myself) Therefore, some of the important features I needed in this app included:
1) A 6,000-word dictionary
2) Pictures – including access to the camera and gallery
3) Personalized data – such as user authentication through Firebase
